Sulwhasoo Spring 2020 Collection: Spring hymns of Flowers, Butterflies & Birds
The 2020 Sulwhasoo Spring Limited Collection has become a piece of artwork with the incorporation of flowers, butterflies, and birds into the traditional Korean patterns.
The flowers, butterflies, and birds embroidered on the partitions that were used to decorate the master bedrooms for stylish women have been brought into a romantic and elegant artwork through the touch of ANTOINETTE POISSON, a group of illustration artists.
Based on the experience of restoring the old wallpaper which was a major cultural heritage of the 18th Century French decorative art, they create pattern designs for fabric and wallpaper. This time, they have reinterpreted the plum blossoms and butterflies in the traditional Korean foldable partitions in contemporary patterns to enhance the artistic value.
Sulwhasoo has applied the ‘embroidery technique’ for the first time to complete the embroidered cushion with golden and silver yarns and express the elaborate aesthetics of the patterns created by ‘Antoinette Poisson.’
The Spring Limited Collection consists of three makeup products, namely, Perfecting Cushion, Snowise Brightening Cushion, and Essential Lip Serum Stick, as well as five makeup products, including Bloomstay Vitalizing Serum and Bloomstay Vitalizing Eye Cream, which are newly added in 2020.
Korean ancestors believed that possessing items with traditional patterns on them would bring luck, prosperity, and happiness to the people in possession of those items.
